Spermicide Caya gel for use with Caya contraceptive diaphragm
Caya® Gel is a contraceptive gel for combination use with the cervical septum contraceptive method. Caya® Gel increases the safety of these contraceptives. Using them without a contraceptive gel has been shown to be less safe. Caya® Gel is identical to Contracep® green manufactured from 1972 to 2002 and Contragel® green which has been available in Europe since 2005. This lactic acid-based composition has been shown to be just as safe as nonoxynol-containing products. -9 according to a comparative study of different gels and diaphragm creams, but found to have a much lower chance of causing side effects.

Mode of action
Caya® forms, through cellulose (gel-forming agent), an additional natural barrier in front of the cervix and reduces the pH of the vaginal fluid. The increased acidity and viscosity of the gel have an inhibitory effect on sperm motility.

How to apply
Before inserting it into the vagina, place about a teaspoon (approximately 4 ml) of Caya® Gel in the diaphragm or cervical cap. Then follow the instructions for inserting the diaphragm or cervix. The vaginal applicator is optionally used if an additional gel is to be inserted in front of the already inserted diaphragm (eg the new Caya® contour diagram) if the contact is repeated. The vaginal applicator can be reused. However, it should be washed in warm water after each use.

Caya® Gel does not offer protection against sexually transmitted diseases.
Caya® Gel is NOT a safe method of contraception when used alone without a mechanical barrier.
Caya® Gel is water soluble and is compatible with natural latex or polyurethane condoms.
